Why we’re passionate about adoption

The day I met my daughter

CHRISTI MEGOW

Christi passionately believes in the miracle of adoption and enjoys helping others navigate its challenges. Her dedication stems from her own journey and the profound joy of parenthood she has experienced through adoption.

Christi received her B.S. in Business Administration at Washington and Lee University and her Masters in Business Administration from Rice University. After marriage and several years of infertility treatments, she and her husband pursued adoption with the help of an adoption consultant, which resulted in the joyful placement of their daughter in their home. Since then, she has been an avid supporter of adoption and post-placement support as exemplified by being a founding member of Adoptive Families of Houston and serving on the board since its inception in 2011, serving as technology chair, secretary, programs chair and now as the President since 2021.

The early part of her career was in the energy industry in Houston, primarily at Dynegy and Reliant Energy. She also served in nonprofit rolls as National Director of National Association of Women MBAs, President of Houston Women of Vision (an affiliate of World Vision) and others during that. time. She stepped back from corporate life and focused on being a mom when her daughter joined the family. Later she began serving non-profits again, this time as PTO President at her children’s elementary school and on the board of Adoptive Families of Houston.

Additionally, Christi has a photography and album making business focused on families called Christi’s Creations. Outside of adoption and photography, Christi enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, volunteering with elementary school kids in an after school program alongside her teenagers and discovering hidden treasures in Houston (she has a bucket list on her photography website). She enjoys bringing her business skills, creativity, passion and enthusiasm for all of these interests to her clients as well as her friends, both old and new!
